| 2009 World Recycling Convention & Exhibition which was organized by BIR and administered by MCI Middle East LLC was opened on 24th, May 2009 in Convention Center of Grand Hyatt Hotel Dubai.
The attendees included ferrous, metals, stainless/alloys, paper, plastics and textiles. Over 400 companies and 800 people of visitors attended the convention and WorldScrap delegates also took part in it.

| During 18th-19th May, 2009 World Scrap Industry (spring) Economics & Trade Fair, which was sponsored by World Scrap had successfully held in Ningbo NanYuan Hotel.
