Subject: Fwd: LDPE/PA film in bales
Greg,
I'm sending this email as I am forced to ask for your assistance. I loaded a container with LDPE/PA film in bales for a customer. At the time of payment, the customer brought this up:
Hi Sam,
I'm faced with a huge issue right now. Oversea market has dropped within
the last 2 weeks and our clients are holding us hostage on containers and
money. Currently we have over 300 containers overseas that have not been
paid for and prices have been cut by about half on most. Because of the
situation, my partner is unwilling to make any payments. I have my hands
tied up right now and I'm unable to proceed. I've been on the road and
will be traveling overseas to see if there are anything that I can do. I
am very sorry about the payment and for messing up everything. This is not
the way I do business, but right now I have no power and control over the
situation. I know this doesn't help you right now, but please understand
I'm doing whatever I can to find a way out of the mess.
Consequently, I'm stuck with the container in the port of Manzanillo, Mexico. My original sell price was US$.11/lb FOB Monterrey. I am willing to let it go at any price and I will make arrangements to have it delivered to any port of your choosing if you decide to assist me and take this material.
It's currently cheaper to export it than to bring it back to Monterrey. So, If you can help I'd deeply appreciate it.
Thanks!
Sam Porche
